The South Bay Smash Wheelchair Tennis Team is based in the San Jose area and has provided a meeting ground for Bay Area wheelchair players since 1996. The team holds regular practice sessions for recreational and competitive wheelchair tennis players to improve their skills. Team members travel to compete in sanctioned tournaments. Several players have achieved national and international rankings.

Visitors and Volunteers: We welcome visitors who would like to see what wheelchair tennis is all about as well as volunteers who would like to help with practices.

Club Visitations: We would be happy to visit your club and put on an exhibition and/or play matches with members. Your members will enjoy meeting and playing with these amazing athletes, be inspired by their skill and competitiveness and gain a new appreciation of determination and attitude. Contact Bill or Sharon to arrange a visitation.

What Else You Should Know? The team is sponsored in part by the City of San Jose, Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services, and the Office of Therapeutic Services (OTS). OTS serves persons with disabilities and chronic health conditions. It provides recreation, education & community services to enrich the quality of life for individuals with disabilities.

The South Bay Smash appreciates any contributions received. We are a 501c non-profit organization and donations will be used for:

Purchase of a tennis wheelchair for beginning players

Tournament travel expenses for players

Team supplies (balls, racquets, uniforms)

Annual tennis camp expenses
